Qatar airways strike back at its neighbours in a video, voice saying “The sky, there should be no borders up here,”
The video is released two weeks after several states including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt, restricted Qatar airways to use their airspace.
The ban hit hard on Qatar Airways, losing 18 destinations and about 50 flights a day, but the airline is focusing on opening new 24 new destinations in the next 12 months to make up the losses.
In response, a voice sends a strong message “As an airline we don’t believe in boundaries, we believe in bringing people together.”
Then Qatar CEO said in an interview with CNN “We are taking the modern high ground,” he added. “Etihad, Saudia, Egyptair, Emirates offices are open. Their offices at the airport have their signage, their lounge is being built at Hammad International Airport [in Doha] by the contractor, we never ever stopped anybody because we do not — Qatar will always act within its legal framework.”
“It is unfortunate that our neighbors have chosen to invest their time and resources in a baseless propaganda campaign against the state of Qatar,” Qatar Government said in a statement.
