Emirates has scheduled to fly Airbus A380 to Colombo Sri Lanka for the first time in Sri Lanka’s Aviation History. The flights are scheduled to commence from 14 August 2017.
An official from Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation said this service would be a once-a-week flight and it would operate with a stopover in a destination in the Far East. The concluded runway expansion has paved the way for super jumbos to land in Sri Lanka.
The Emirates A380-800 is certified for up to 853 passengers, 538 on the main deck and 315 on the upper.
This would increase the passenger traffic to Sri Lanka, one of the world’s best destinations for holiday makers.
