2010 year made single engine Air Tractor 602, which took off from Lisbon airport on Thursday morning crashed into a soybean field about 15 km west of Gwinner, South Eastern North Dakota of USA.
The 45 year old pilot, John Georger, who has been employed by a crop spraying company in that area for 11 years as crop sprayer, died at the spot. He was trying to spray pesticides on a potato field. The pilot is from Barney, a small town around 50 km from Gwinner, married and has three kids.
A nearby farmer has seen the plane descending through the thick fog and fell into the Soybean field. The farmer has informed the police and rushed to the site with his brother and other volunteers.
While the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the fatal accident, the Police has aired the view that the fog might have been the cause for the crash.
