The Abu Dhabi based Etihad Airways has launched a scheme to give the economy passengers the option to reserve adjacent seats to enjoy a neighbour-free travel.
The passengers could reserve the adjacent seats which will be confirmed 32-35 hours before the flight.
Etihad says passengers can bid to keep adjacent seats empty any time up to 35 hours before departure; it’s not possible to bid for empty seats at the airport or while boarding the flight. Anyhow they have the option to change or cancel the bids through online before the airline confirms the reservation.
This is one of the options dreamt by most of the passengers who love more space. There is a possibility of reserving the entire row of seats under this scheme as one could reserve up to three seats provided they are adjacent.
Families with small children will be at ease and many more would chose to fly.
Similar scheme had been in operation on a trial basis for a couple of years but ceased to operate from after April 2016.
