The British Airways has hired 9 numbers of A320 and A320 jets from Qatar airways to continue the passenger service disrupted by the strike organised by British airways staff from July 1 to 16. The notice about the strike has been in the Air for a couple of months.
The flights which were replaced by Qatar Airways have offered an enjoyable trip to Economy passengers by the ways such as more space, deep reclining seats, extra leg room, friendly crew, free snacks, on demand audio entertainment and so forth.
The Unite Union and the BA had arrived at a solution regarding the pay over 26 days strike in previous occasion this year. But the current strike is about the punitive action taken against 1400 members who had participated in previous strike.
Though the Unite Union complained about the deal of British Airways with Doha on human rights grounds, British see this as an opportunity since Doha owns 20% of shares in British airways and the crew of it also were idling due to the ban by its Gulf neighbours.
According to BA, the short haul passengers are seem to be better off, though some long haul flights had to be cancelled. On the whole 99.5 % of the flights are operating as scheduled with Qatar Airways operating around 30 flights a day.
