Daily flights has been scheduled between Colombo and Melbourne from October 29th with Airbus A330-200. Airbuses are leased out to make this operation success.
The decision was made taking in to consideration of the fact that 50% of Sri Lankans living in Australia are centered on Victoria.
UL- 605 departs Melbourne at 4.55 pm to reach Colombo at 10.15 pm. UL 604 departs Colombo at 11.50 pm to arrive into Melbourne at 3.25 pm the following day. There are no other airlines flying nonstop between Australia and Sri Lanka
Sri Lankan will have a total fleet of 23 aircrafts. The Neo-series has been designed to provide fairly lower fuel consumption and lower operating costs through more modern technical aspects. It also features cabin improvements such as more passenger seats, larger hand luggage spaces and an improved air purification system.
Another special feature is that these flights will have 18 lie-flat business class seats in a 2-2-2 arrangement.
