The Sukhoi Super jet 100 claims that it needs only 1425 meter runway whereas length of a normal runway is at least 1800 meters.
SSJ 100 is driven by PowerJet SaM146, a turbofan engine produced by the PowerJet joint venture (not to be confused with Power Jets) between Snecma (Safran) of France and NPO Saturn of Russia.
More than 77 aircrafts are in operation and 52 are with Russian Aeroflot.
The Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company, the SSJ100 manufacturer, regulated the environment noise level not more than 89 Db if measured in three points, in full compliance with ICAO Annex16.
The SSJ 100 had to comply with these regulations as Bomma airport has less space and has an obligation to the environment where houses are built around the airport.
