The partnership would promote greater tie between hubs of these two airlines at Dubai International. At the moment Emirates operates from its own dedicated Terminal 3, and flydubai mainly operates from Terminal 2 together with Air India Express.
The new partnership will add greater value out of the collaborative operations as both airlines have grown independently over years to their fullest potential.
The passengers will be able to benefit by the integrated operations by the two parties.
Emirates current fleet is 259 flying to 157 destinations. Flydubai fly to 95 destinations with 58 aircrafts. The current combined travels to 216 destinations with 317 aircrafts. As it grows there will be 240 destinations with combined fleet of 380 by the year 2022.
Both Emirates and Flydubai are owned by the Investment Corporation of Dubai, but they would continue to be managed independently.
