On Sunday night a regional flight from Atlanta carrying 106 passengers got landed at around 10 pm. The carrier Delta Airline used a taxiway under construction unknowingly and got stuck in the mud. Airport attendants could not put the regular door bridge as it got entangled with the mud.
It took about three hours to move the plane. The airfield was closed during that time and reopened at about 1 am.
Passengers were deplaned via air stairs and transported back to the terminal with Delta’s apologies for their experience.
The normal flight time from Atlanta of Georgia to Ashville of New Carolina is only 34 minutes covering a distance of 264 km.
