A Smartwing Airbus A320-200 operating a flight from Brno of Czech Republic to Bulgaria with 178 people on board veered off the runway after landing at Bourgas airport. It came to a halt nearly 1900 m on soft ground. Passengers were fetched through the mobile stairs. There were no reports of injury.
Bourgas is the second largest city on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast and the fourth largest in Bulgaria. It is the capital of Bourgas province an important industrial, transport cultural and tourist centre.
The airport was closed, aircraft was moved off the runway and then directed to Varna Airport.
