More than 700 hundred of London-bound passengers of Medview Airlines has been left stranded at the Lagos airport since Sunday.
The first lot of passengers has been airlifted to London Gatwick by a B767 aircraft on Tuesday at 7.30am. This is the flight returned from London with travellers.
Another flight Boeing 747 is due this (Tuesday) night and which will airlift over 400 passengers out of Lagos to London. Therefore by this (Wednesday) morning, all the issues would be normalized and regular flight operations would proceed.
According to the statement by the airline, the flight disruption on the route was compounded by an accident at the Gatwick airport, which affected other airlines, and also the inability of the CAA to grant the necessary permits over the weekend for charter flights to clear the backlog of passengers.
