A United Airlines Boeing 767 plane bound to Honolulu from Newark Liberty International Airport with sixty one passengers who were heading for vacation, on Sunday Morning cancelled the takeoff, as the indicator in the cockpit alerted to a possible mechanical problem.
The FEDERAL Aviation Administration (FAA) said that after the aircraft taxied off the runway and onto a holding area, the pilot reported that the aircraft had “hot brakes” due to the quick stop. Fire fighters rushed to the scene to spray water on the brakes.
All the passengers were safely evacuated via a stair truck and two buses escorted passengers back to Terminal.
An aircraft tug was sent to remove the plane.
No injuries were reported.
