British Airways announced Tuesday it will be operating its Airbus A380 superjumbo jet, instead of Boeing 747, next year on its daily service between O’Hare Airport, Chicago and London’s Heathrow Airport.
The A380, seats up to 469 passengers in four cabins across two decks, will debut on the route in May 2018.
British Airways Flight 295 will depart London at 10:50 a.m. and arrive at O’Hare at 1:25 p.m. It will leave Chicago at 5:30 p.m. daily and arrive in London at 7:20 a.m. the next morning.
O’Hare can accommodate wide-body aircraft, including the A380, as a new runway has been completed in 2013 and a new gate at O’Hare’s international terminal.
