Honeywell, an American multinational conglomerate company that produces a variety of commercial and consumer products, engineering services and aerospace systems, is helping reduce fuel use on 71 aircraft for two national carriers through its Connected Aircraft GoDirect™ Fuel Efficiency software.
GoDirect Fuel Efficiency software collects, monitors and analyzes data for operators to help them optimize fuel efficiency across the fleet. Pilots are provided with the most fuel-efficient flight paths that will reduce the amount of fuel used on every flight.
Brussels Airlines and Air Serbia have joined a growing list of more than 30 global customers already using GoDirect software, including Lufthansa, Jet Airways, Etihad, Finnair, Japan Airlines and others.
Fuel usage accounts for 20 to 40 percent of an airline’s operating costs, so even a single-digit percentage improvements can save airlines millions of dollars in fuel spending each year.
