Many flights at Orlando International Airport were delayed after someone reportedly tried to flush their belongings down a toilet. The toilet overflowed and caused flooding in the International arrivals area of Terminal 1.
International travelers had to be bused to a different customs area. An airport spokeswoman Carolyn Fennell said personnel were able to reroute planes to avoid the flooding. She mentioned that it was certainly an inconvenience to some, but they were able to move very quickly.
While the investigation is ongoing, officials reportedly say it looks like someone tried to flush the contents of their suitcase into a toilet in one of the airport’s bathrooms. What exactly those contents were remains unclear.
Airport officials continue attempting to determine who was responsible for flushing the items. They said they were primarily focused on reopening the customs area.
