As part of cost cutting measure, Aer Lingus has announced it will no longer offer free blankets or earphones to long-haul passengers travelling on its cheapest tickets.
The Irish carrier announced that, new no-frills “Saver” fare will be introduced on its Dublin to North America routes next month, at €40 (£36.80) cheaper than the standard fare.
When you purchase this ticket, along with blanket and earphones you will lose the right to choose their seat and check in luggage for free.
However if you still feel like using them once boarded, you could be able to purchase the earphones for €5 and use a blanket for €3.
Saver passengers will still receive a complimentary in-flight meal and will also be entitled to travel with 10kg of hand luggage.
“Saver is the perfect option for those looking to travel light on direct flights between Ireland and North America,” the airline said on its website.
