Belgian Army pilot fell to his death from his army Agusta A109 helicopter during a parachute jump demonstration, sparking search for his body lasted more than a day.
According to local media, The co-pilot was busy preparing the 3 paratroopers who were going to jump. Immediately after their jump, the co-pilot turned back to the pilot and saw the pilot’s seat empty, and his door was open.
The co-pilot told authorities that the helicopter nose had begun to lurch forward and he immediately took the command, righted and landed the helicopter.
At the time of the incident, The helicopter was flying at an altitude around 1,300 metres.
The reason for the pilot’s fall remains a mystery.
“The sliding door alongside the pilot seat had been opened and the radio connection between the pilot and other crew members had been cut”, reported Belgium’s Nieuwsblad
