It’s observed that more and more South Koreans prefer to travel by air locally and to foreign countries, thereby increasing the demand for airline service.
At the moment there are eight airlines serving the country and altogether 5711 pilots to operate them. The country intends to add 152 new planes to their fleet which will need additional 1800 pilots.
400 pilots would retire during the forthcoming five years and another 500 may leave the airlines for better prospects.
This situation will require training of new pilots to meet the demand.
