The twentieth Annual event, Riverfire, has raised great expectation in the minds of the public due to the return of RAAF’s Roulettes to perform an airshow. This has been a long awaited event.
Roulette is the Aerobatic display Team of Royal Australian Air Force.
The Roulettes are scheduled to put on a show over the Brisbane River for 15 minutes starting at 3:30pm on Saturday.
About five hundred thousand people are expected to gather around the South Brisbane, Kangaroo Point and Fortitude Valley throughout Saturday.
The six planes of the Roulette will be flying as low as 80 metres off the ground at speeds of up to 460 kilometres per hour with as little as 3 metres of space between each aircraft as they pull off a multitude of manoeuvres and formations together.
It will be followed by the Army Aviation helicopter display and many other shows.
The usual fireworks will have its day for about 20 minutes which will warm up the whole series of events.
