VIRGIN Australia passengers are disappointed as the flights were affected by a system failure.
The airport was checking passengers manually and the Virgin Australia has alerted th passengers to allocate time for delays.
The mishap is affecting hundreds of rugby fans who have planned last minute flights to Sydney to watch the NRL Grand Final between the North Queensland Cowboys and Melbourne Storm.
The Adelaide Crows team which lost the Grand Final to Richmond also were affected as they are to fly back home for Family Day event at Adelaide Oval.
Though the airline has blamed an ‘Optus technical issue’ for the system meltdown and warned customers to allow for extra time the airline said it “sincerely apologise for any delays and inconvenience this has caused our guests, and will provide further details as soon as possible”.
