Jackson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi.
James Hitterman, the pilot, had been airborne in the single seat plane only for about 15 minutes when the aircraft crashed. He wasn’t hurt.
Legal officials say that the pilot was taking the plane on a test fly as he wanted to purchase it. Hitterman told police that while he was in the air, the aircraft began spluttering and spitting. “I did everything I could, to try to keep the plane airborne, but couldn’t keep it in the sky,” the pilot said.
The plane was forced to make an emergency landing in a residential area of the Gulf Park Estates community, and hit the fence of a house.
The pilot seems to have steered it towards the fence instead of the house to minimize the damage.
