BB Airways purchased a 30 year old Boeing 757 from Nepal Airline and prepares to fly as an operational passenger aircraft. The Nepal Airlines grounded and disqualified the Boeing 757 for passenger use since 2016, following airline’s policy of phasing out old aircraft.
Since then Nepal Airline has been struggling to sell the plane for $1.5million and found no bidders. Finally BB Airways finalised a purchase order through the tender called by Nepal Airlines. The purchased Boeing 757 airplane is going though major maintenance and will be scheduled to fly Kathmandu-New Delhi route.
