Airbus has confirmed 19th October 2017 as the Maiden flight date for Airbus A330-900neo.
Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, A330neo will be taking off from Toulouse airport on 19th Oct.
A330neo comes in two variants, A330-800neo and A330-900neo. The longer -900 version can accomodate 287 seats in a typical three-class layout or up to 440 for high-density configurations, and can provide a range of 6,550 nautical miles.
Airbus’s 42-month programme from launch to first delivery to TAP Portugal Airlines, is scheduled for the first quarter of 2018.
With the production cost of an estimated $2 billion, Airbus targets to get 4000 aircraft orders at an estimated unit price of US$254.8M (2017) for A330-800neo:
As of 11 October 2017, Airbus secured 212 A330neo orders, out of which only 6 are -900.
