The Mango pilots have called off the strike after trade union Solidarity reached an agreement with Mango, the low-cost airline, on Thursday late night.
Though the agreement outlines mainly the scheduling of flight rosters and hours of work Mango requires from the crew, Deon Reyneke the Deputy General Secretary said that the management came to the negotiating table with a solution oriented approach, which inspired the members to reach an agreement.
Mango also agreed to a wage increase by 7 % though the demand was 8.5%.
The former 3 year salary agreement was expired in September and management was ready to increase wages only by 6%.
Solidarity and Mango came to an agreement on Thursday night and members have already reported for work on Friday morning.
