Malaysia Airlines board meets today to decide on New CEO to take on the duties of current CEO Peter Bellew who is leaving end of this month.
Peter bellow said he is leaving because “It is Ireland’s greatest company. They need my help and there is a big challenge. It is a form of national service,” and surprise the Malaysia Airlines board.
The sources close to Malaysia Airlines said, they are looking for an internal candidate and definitely the “mood is not to hire another foreigner”. and “there are lot of Malaysians capable of doing the job.. it is matter of time to find the right candidate, and its an opportunity to prove Malaysians can do the job”.sources said.
According to local news ‘The Star’ “The two front runners for the top post within MAS are said to be chief financial officer Omar Siddiq Amin Noer Rashid and chief operating officer Captain Izham Ismail.”
The board has asked the staff to remain focused and not to derail the turnaround efforts because of Bellew’s departure.
