‘Every take-off, one tree’., Fiji Airways staff and family members determined to green the Fiji island. The plan is to plant a tree for every international takeoff. As part of the program, a team of 100 Fiji Airways staff planted 2000 mangrove seedlings at Lautoka’s Saweni Beach and My Suva Park at the Nasese foreshore yesterday.
The team has planted 500 mahogany trees in Nadi area and in total 2500 trees have been planted in their project ‘Every take-off, one tree’
Fiji Airways Chief Executive Officer Andre Viljoen said “We’re committed to our environment and offsetting as much of our carbon emissions as possible,”.
As to contribute for the global eco system, Fiji Airways committed to buy fuel efficient aircraft that reduces carbon footprint.
