Bangkok Airways is in the process of replacing its 15 A319 aircraft, and in the lookout for the right mix of fleet through purchase and lease.
It is evaluating aircraft features among Airbus A319neo, Boeing 737 Max 7 and Bombardier CS300, and aims for purchase around 20 aircraft by mid 2019. It was reported that the sales team from CSeries in contact with Bangkok Airways to secure the order.
According to Peter Wiesner, network and fleet management advisor of Bangkok Airways, the airline is not in a rush to make a decision as the leases on their current fleet are ongoing. He also said that Airline will eventually replace all the ageing aircraft with almost 20 new aircraft by 2019.
Currently Bangkok Airways has fifteen A319s, nine A320s and six ATR 72-500s and all the Airbus aircraft are on lease.
