“KLM Royal Dutch Airline celebrated the departure of the Fokker 70 in style, marking the end of a 97-year partnership between KLM and Fokker”. said KLM
KLM dropped the curtain down on Fokker Aircraft and it last six Fokker 70s departed on Saturday 28 October 2017 from London Heathrow Airport.
According to KLM, The airline deployed two ‘Fokker 11’ aircraft on 30 September 1920, and their final destination were London – from the same London Heathrow Airport, its very last flight departed on Saturday 28th October 2017.
The final flight from London completed a full circle and landed at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol at 20.30 LT where they received a warm welcome including a full shower of affection from the fire brigade and a victory lap around the platform.
The aircraft will continue to operate elsewhere, because KLM has sold its last Fokkers to airlines in Asia, Africa and South America.
