Airbus corruption scandal widens as it revealed, it had breached US arms export regulations.
The company revealed on 31 October 2017, there is “inaccuracies” in application to defense-export licenses and admitted, it had paid middle men to win defence contracts. The new issue will be added to continuing ‘Airbus scandal’ investigation by U.K, France, German and Austrian Authorities.
Last month CEO Tom Enders warned the staff in a internal letter that (the probes) “This is going to be a long process and there are potentially serious consequences –- including significant penalties to the company,” and said he is willing to step down if he is “no longer part of the solution”
For the past 18 months airbus is in turmoil., ever since Airbus admitted to UK authorities that it had found discrepancies in wining contracts by overpaying middlemen.
Airbus used to have “Sales and Marketing Organisation (SMO), which managed its third-party agents (internally known as a “bullshit castle”) to win contracts., and when Tom Enders took over the position as CEO in 2012, the company scraped the SMO and used its own marketing team.
