Pakistan International airlines from UAE’s Abu Dhabi to Rahim Yar Khan in Pakistan’s Punjab province had a stop over at Lahore airport and asked the passengers to hitch a ride on bus to their final destination.
The crew told the passengers that due to low visibility, Aircraft cannot proceed to its final destination which is almost 620km away, and asked them to take a bus ride from Lahore.
The decision surprised the passengers as they did not expect it to come from a national carrier. Passengers refused to get off the plane and demanded to leave them at least at Multan Aiport which is 292km from Rahim Yar Khan Airport because the bus ride would take almost 8 to 9 hours.
Since passengers refused to get off the plane, the crew switched off the plane’s Air Conditioning system, causing discomfort and suffocation, forcing the passengers to get off the plane
PIA has been losing its market share to three major Gulf carriers and these type of incidents will even further damage its name.
