The United Airlines temporarily suspended flights to New Delhi,India due to smog filled the city. The visibility is almost zero in some parts of the city and flight operations to and from New Delhi has been affected since Tuesday 9 November 2017.
The capital’s toxin air is making it a virtual no-go destination for people, and United decided to suspend flights considering health issues than the visibility.
On Saturday, airline handed over “smog masks” to all passengers on board before landing at Delhi Airport and announced it is suspending flights to Delhi until November 13.
The Chicago based United Airlines serves the Indian capital city from their Newark hub using the Boeing 777-200 aircraft, one of the airline’s longest non-stop flights.
