Dubai Airshow 2017
Dubai airshow is going to witness an interesting competition between Lockheed Martin’s F-22 raptor and Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets both sharinge a common runway.
The Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor is a fifth-generation, single-seat, twin-engine, all-weather stealth tactical fighter aircraft developed for the United States Air Force (USAF). The aircraft was designed primarily as an air superiority fighter, but also has ground attack, electronic warfare, and signal intelligence capabilities.
The Sukhoi Su-35 is the designation for two separate, heavily-upgraded derivatives of the Su-27 air-defense fighter. They are single-seat, twin-engine, highly-maneuverable aircraft, designed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau and built by the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association of Russia.
Su-35 USSR F-22 USA
F-35 of USA has held a monopoly on exportable fifth-generation capabilities and there is no doubt, Washington would like to keep it that way. But, Russia has claimed the Su-35 is under active consideration and in February signed an agreement with Abu Dhabi to study next-generation fighter concepts.
Though there are mysteries around, the competition would be worth watching.
