With 268 passengers and 14 crew members, Air New Zealand flight NZ99 bound for Narita, Tokyo was redirected back to Auckland due to an issue with one of its engines.
After experienced shaking and “weird noises” from the flight and the pilot requested emergency services be on standby for the landing, “in line with normal operating procedures”.
Fire and Emergency NZ crew and St John Ambulance crew were arrived at the scene as a precautionary act. Aircraft landed shortly before 11am with all passengers safely. No injuries were reported.
