The pilot of Emirates Airways A380 aircraft informed the airport officials of Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) of SriLanka that the fuel was insufficient for their flight towards Dubai and requested for an emergency landing for refueling. The plane landed and 2.50 a.m. and took off at 4.40 a.m. after refueling 30,000 litres.
The flight started from Auckland with 400 passengers and 30 crew members and this is another A-380 landing for refueling. Earlier in this month on 15th another A-380 of Emirates made an emergency landing at BIA for refueling on its way to Dubai from Sydney.
“Several A380 airbuses had landed after the new runway was put in place. The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, wide-bodied, four-engine jet airliner with a 500 passenger capacity and manufactured by European Manufacturer Airbus,” said the duty manager of BIA.
