Warsaw Chopin Airport,in Poland was closed for four hours after LOT Polish Airlines plane made an emergency landing on 10 Jan 2018. The Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 flight #LO3924 from Krakow to Warsaw with 63 passengers on board landed without nose landing gear.
The landing gear failed to extend on approach and the pilots followed the emergency procedure and landed the aircraft safely around 19:13 local time.
No injuries were reported and all passengers were evacuated and transported to the VIP lounge. Warsaw Airport remained closed until 22:30 local time and all inbound flights were diverting to other airports.
Local media reported, a similar incident occurred last month with the Polish Airlines’s same aircraft type where pilots managed to extend the landing gear just in the last moment.
