Qatar Airways showcased its new “Qsuites” business-class suite cabin in New York last week. With the latest design, which Qatar Airways has patented, says “we’ve raised the bar for everybody.”.
Recently, the competition to provide comfort flying has been on the rise. Last year, Singapore Airlines spent more than $800 million upgrading business class suites in its A380s and Etihad, Emirates, Delta and Cathy pacific rolled out feature suites-style seats to stay ahead of the game.
The lie-bed seats in Qsuites can be combined into a double-bed and the cabin featuring ‘quad’ option allows to combine four suites into a shared space for four people traveling together.
Qatar Airways’ new Qsuites will be installed on its all B777s and A350s that fly long-haul routes and the carrier expects to complete the project in two years, as more than six planes fly with Qsuites now.
“Competition is healthy in general because that keeps us running fast,” says Saurwein of Qatar Airways
