Qatar Airways is all set to receive the first Airbus A350-1000 next month, the date is not finalised. The airline was due to take delivery at the end of 2017, but due to installing new seats configuration with its signature design ‘Qsuite’, the airline will take delivery the Airplane in February 2018.
The award winning new business class seats and Qsuite cabin which is installed in its new A350-1000 was showcased at the 2018 Kuwait Aviation Show on Wednesday, 17 January 2018.
A350-1000 received the type certification on 21 Nov, 2017 after having tested 3 airplanes for 1,600 flight hours. The aircraft also went on ‘Early Long Flight’ (ELF) test by loading the aircraft to its full capacity with passengers and crew on a 12-hour flight. The A350-1000 is 7 metres longer than the A350-900, and designed to carry 366 passengers with a range of 7,950nm.
According to Airbus the A350-1000 has 95 per cent common systems as the A350-900, as well as the same type rating. The noticeable differences are that, A350-1000 has a longer fuselage, a modified wing trailing-edge, new six-wheel main landing gears and a more powerful Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines than A350-900
