United Airlines announced on investor update, to add forty Bombardier CRJ200 to boost its United Express feeder service. The aircraft will be operated under a Capacity Purchase Agreement (CPA) signed last year by Air Wisconsin, the carrier announced on January 23, 2018.
The Chicago based carrier said to increase the feeder aircraft within the scope of CPA signed last year. The addition of forty aircraft will bring the total number of CRJ-200s operated by capacity providers to 125 aircraft. Currently Air Wisconsin and Skywest Airlines operate as capacity providers under the United Express brand.
The decision to add more CRJs follows the retirement of remaining seven Dash 8-200s operated by CommutAir, and plans to retire the remaining three ERJ-135s operated by ExpressJet Airlines.
