Israeli Defence Force Dynamics F-16 fighter jet was shot down by Syrian anti-aircraft fire over Jezreel Valley on Saturday. Both the pilots managed to eject before the crash, but one was seriously wounded.
The jet was shot down after IDF attacked Iranian control systems in Syria from which an unmanned aerial vehicle was sent to Israel airspace, which was successfully incepted by the Israelis.
In retaliation IDF has launched a large scale air strikes against air defences and Iranian targets in Syria.
In reponse to Israel’s attacks on Iranian targets in Syria, Iran’s military leader Hossein Salami said that the Islamic Republic will “open the gates of hell” over Israel. He also claimed that his country has the power to destroy all American bases in the region, and said Americans should “leave the region before its defeat”
