ConnectJets delivers Piaggio Aerospace’s Avanti EVO to a UK customer on February 8, 2018. The 9 seater Avanti EVO is manufactured by Italian Piaggio Aerospace is the fastest turboprop aircraft in the world with the record speed of 475.2 knots (880.1 km/h). The innovative 5-blade scimitar propellers and the three-lifting surface configurations marry together to reach top speeds.
The twin turboprop engines mounted in pusher configuration in a T-Tail and canard design aircraft has a forward wing’s angle of incidence slightly greater than that of the main wing, so that it stalls before the main wing, producing an automatic nose-down effect prior to the onset of main wing stall.
There are around 220 units in service with growing global interest; the new owner said “The Avanti EVO was my first choice for a short haul aircraft in Europe. Not only it is exceptionally fuel efficient, but the interior space is very large for an aircraft of its type”
