Turkish Airlines orders 25 Airbus A350-900s and 25 Boeing 787-9s with five options on each model, taking the overall widebody commitment to 60.
The Airline confirmed the order and İlker Aycı, Chairman of Turkish Airlines.said “Today, we’re pleased to conclude this process….. by firmly ordering these aircraft to be added to our ever-expanding fleet,”
The Airline disclosed its intention to order 40 Boeing 787s last September, during Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to New York, and this year January 15, it expressed interest adding 25 A350s, during an official Erdogan visit to Paris to meet French president Emmanuel Macron.
Airline confirmed the order for 50 jets with 10 options to begin deliveries from 2019, – the first six in 2019, 14 in 2020, 10 in 2021, 12 in 2022, 11 in 2023 and the final 7 will be delivered in 2024.
Turkish Airlines currently has a fleet of 181 jets, includes 97 Airbus A319, A320, A321s, and 84 Boeing 737-700, -800, and -900s.
