Air New Zealand announced to begin new nonstop flights between Auckland and Chicago, beginning 30 November 2018. The airline will operate three times a week, year-round service with its newly configured Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
The flight time from Auckland to Chicago will be approximately 15 hours and just over 16 hours on return flight. The passengers will be offered to connect with more than 100 destinations in United Airlines flights from its hub at O’Hare International Airport.
United also said to extend its services to three times a week, between San Francisco and Auckland beginning April 2019, which will connect Air New Zealand flights to 20 destinations. United will operate Boeing 777-300ER jets between November and March, and Boeing 777-200ER jets between April and October for San Francisco – Auckland flights.
“We expect the addition of Chicago to our network to be an attractive option for Americans keen to explore New Zealand and Kiwis wanting to visit Chicago or head on to other North American destinations,” says Air New Zealand Chief Executive Officer Christopher Luxon.
