Boeing is soaring in orders for its 737MAX as Jet Airways India is closing in for fresh orders for 737 Max single-aisle jets to bring its order commitments for the model above 200 aircraft.
India’s largest full-sevice private airline Jet Airways has been in talks with Boeing to purchase new planes and said to make and announcement in coming weeks.
According to Jet airways Chairman Goyal, the airline has 150 MAX-8s on order and said to have the flexibility to upgrade to Max 9 or 10 with the new deal.
Jet Airways is due to take the first delivery of 737MAX-8 from its previous orders in July and run through 2023.
The 737 MAX family aircraft powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines, offer 130 to 230 seats with the a range up to 3,850 nautical miles (7,130 kilometers).
Since the launch of 737 MAX program on August 30, 2011, Boeing has secured order commitments for more than 4470 aircraft. The first delivery was a MAX -8 on May 6, 2017 to Malindo Air, Malaysia.
