Emirates said to introduce Premium Economy class on its new A380 aircraft from 2020. The Premium economy seats will have more legroom and offer other inflight service benefits at a cost between economy and business class tickets.
The Emirates new upgrade could pressure its Gulf rival airlines Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways as they compete among each other to be a global leader.
Dubai-based airline added 20 A380s to its fleet of 269 aircraft in January and has purchasing options for an additional 16.
The airline has been upgrading its first class and business class, unveiling new suites on its Boeing 777-3000ERs and busy designing cabin layout for the new Boeing 777x.
Emirates president Clark said the 777x seats would “resemble what we have on the Airbus A380s upstairs”..
