Iraqi Airways says it is surprised to see that the airline is still on the EU blacklist which was revised on 14 June 2018.
The European Commission banned Iraqi flag-carrier from entering EU airspace since 2015, and it is one of only five airlines individually barred from European airspace.
Director general Miran Farid says the European authorities are not sending inspectors to review the carrier, citing security risk in Iraq.
Since the ban in place, the Iraqi Airways is using third-party carriers to fly passengers to European cities.
Mr. Farid says that he is finding ways to bring in EU inspectors to review the carrier, and get the ban lifted.
believe thatsays the carrier has been using third-party carriers for more than two years to support its operations.
