Air Colombia Douglas DC-3 plane was damaged on landing at San Felipe Guainia, Colombia on 11 July 2018.
The aircraft carrying humanitarian aid landed on an unpaved runway with the faulty landing gear and veered off the runway. The plane was badly damaged and both propellers detached.
The airfield in San Felipe has no air traffic control and the runway was paved for only landing small aircraft.
Air Colombia charter its DC3 aircraft for transporting cargo and as passenger services, focused especially on the eastern plains of Colombia and areas bordering Venezuela and Brazil.
This Douglas DC3 with the registration Hk3293, was built in Long Beach – California, United States in 1942.
