Mahan Air A300-600 flight crew failed to execute a go-around during a bounced landing, which resulted tail strike on 6 June 2018, Iranian Investigators disclosed.
The flight W5-1019 with 121 passengers onboard, from Ala’Marvdasht bounced three times on landing and suffered a tail strike. The aircraft rolled out without further incident. The flight landed on daylight good visibility with the 18kt headwind.
The preliminary report indicate that go around was still possible after the first bounce, and due to Poor decision-making, the crew let the aircraft bounce three times and struck its tail on the runway.
The Aircraft aft fuselage suffered minor skin damage
