“Hey, do you think if I land this successfully Alaska will give me a job as a pilot?” mechanic asked the Air Traffic Controller from a stolen Horizon Air Bombardier Q400 plane.
A 29 year old mechanic stole an empty 76 seater Q400 aircraft from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and flew it for an hour with military jets chasing and did a complete barrel roll before crashing it at Ketron Island about 40 miles away.
“We’ve confirmed a Horizon Air Q400 that had an unauthorized takeoff from SeaTac around 8pm has gone down near Ketron Island in Pierce County, WA.” Alaska Air confirmed the incident on its tweet.
