Aviation week unveiled the engines powering the Stratolaunch launch vehicle family.
Stratolaunch recently unveiled plans to develop complete launch vehicle family ranging from Pegasus XL to ‘Black Ice’, a fully reusable spaceplane.
According to Aviation week, the “The fully-reusable Black Ice spaceplane will be powered by three PGA engines for single-stage air-launch to orbit capability.”
“The PGA is a liquid oxygen and hydrogen engine with fuel-rich staged-combustion.”.. and will also be used to power Stratolaunch’s Mach 10 vehicle concept and hypersonic research testbeds…”PGA is designed to produce 200,000 lb. thrust.”
