Taiwanese EVA Air has taken delivery of its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, via leasing company Air Lease Corp on 2 Oct 2018.
The aircraft powered by GEnx engines marks the first of 24 Dreamliners on order in 2015, which includes 18 787-10 airplanes, four 787-9s and two 787-10s on lease from ALC. This remains the largest commercial airplane purchase in Taiwan’s history.
EVA has partnered with BMW Designworks to design its Royal Laurel class seats, and each seat is 23 in. wide and can recline into a 76-inch flat bed.
For the Economy class seats, the airline teamed up with RECARO, the German Automotive seating company to build and the headrests can adjust to 6 in. and in 6 directions. The new IFE with a 12-in. touchscreen HD monitor offers comfort & entertainment at 30,000 ft.
